As we journey through the green hills of Eastern Antioquia, we’ll make brief panoramic stops to see the charming town of Marinilla and the historic Pueblo del Peñol, a replica of the town that now sits at the bottom of the reservoir.
The Main Event: The Piedra del Peñol
We arrive at the day’s most famous landmark: the magnificent Piedra del Peñol. This is the ultimate El Peñol tour from Medellín. We’ll stop at the base, and you will have ample time to take on the 700+ stair challenge to the top.
The climb is optional, but the 360-degree view of the bright blue reservoir and its islands is one of the most incredible sights in all of South America. (Please note: The climb entrance fee of 30,000 COP is not included and is paid in cash at the rock).
